TAURAS-FENIX tray sealers are designed for sealing pre-filled trays and containers in an automatic cycle. The machines seal the product with a film web, optionally remove air from the chamber, and can inject a modified atmosphere (MAP) before hermetically sealing the tray. The sealing film is cut to the exact contour, ensuring a clean and attractive package appearance.
The equipment supports three operating modes:
- Sealing only
- Vacuum sealing
- Sealing in modified atmosphere (MAP)
Tray sealers are used for packaging ready meals, semi-finished products, salads, meat, fish, seafood, bakery goods, snacks and various prepared foods. The machines operate with plastic trays of standard formats (for example, 187×137 mm, up to 135 mm height) and other compatible containers.
Typical operation cycle of the tray sealer:
- receiving a pre-filled tray into the sealing zone
- lifting the lower chamber plate
- evacuating air from the chamber
- injecting inert gas (for MAP, if enabled)
- sealing the tray with film while simultaneously cutting the contour
- equalizing chamber pressure
- lowering the chamber plate
- rewinding film waste
The operator’s tasks include placing trays onto the loading table, monitoring machine operation, and replacing consumables (film roll) during the shift. Reliable sealing performance requires clean sealing surfaces: contamination of the tray flange with product is not permitted.
TAURAS-FENIX tray sealers can be integrated into automated lines and adapted for various food production requirements, supporting vacuum, MAP and high-quality hermetic sealing for extended shelf life.
